CURING AGENT Z-1UTWARDZACZ Z-1

Curing agent (aliphatic amine) for epoxy resins.
Curing agent Z-1 is a slightly yellow or yellow-green, oily liquid, with "mice" smell.
Application of the curing agent Z-1 requires that an actual content of pure resin in the recipe must be taken into account, to calculate (based on epoxy number), the amount of curing agent needed.
As soon as the curing agent is added to the resin the curing process starts and the open time is set. The open time limits the span in which the resin must be processed. As the open time ends, fast curing takes place.
It is of high importance to use precisely weighted dosages of Curing Agent Z-1., as yet small excess cuts the open time. High excess of the curing agent may result in strong exothermic reaction and boiling of (or even selfignition) of the system.
Each deviation in the amount of Curing Agent Z-1 worsens properties of the final product.
Different curing methods are used in every day practice:

  • room temperature curing, with 35 min. open time, preliminary curing after 3-4 h, and the level of curing is 80-90% after first 48h.
